How does scheduling work?
Most students meet once or twice per week at a consistent day and time. This helps establish routine and steady progress.
How do you conduct remote sessions?
I send your child a private Google Meet link that we use each week. Sessions follow a consistent structure so students know what to expect.
I use a document camera to model problem-solving, show written examples, and demonstrate concepts in real time.
Students can send photos of their handwritten work before or during the session so we can review and work through it together.
Do you offer in-person tutoring? Where do in-person sessions take place?
Yes! In-person sessions may be held at your home or mine in Bernal Heights or a nearby neighborhood, depending on availability and what works best for your family.
What types of students do you work best with?
I often work with students who benefit from structure, consistency, and encouragement, including those who feel anxious about school or assessments, are looking to get ahead in the material, or are navigating academic transitions.
What materials should students bring?
Binder or graph paper
Pencils
School materials, including relevant textbooks, worksheets, novels, assignment instructions, or devices
How do you communicate with parents/guardians?
I provide brief session updates via email or text as needed. If parents or guardians would prefer a more detailed discussion, I offer a complimentary check-in after every four sessions to review goals, discuss student progress, and outline next steps. This is designed as an open and collaborative conversation between tutor and parents/guardians.
How do you set goals with students?
We create a shared Google document that your child can revisit and update over time. Together, we set goals in areas such as:
Study habits
Test-taking skills
Organization
Writing and reading growth
Math fluency
Personal or long-term goals (sports, college, future plans)
Goals help students track their progress and take ownership of their learning.
Interested in learning more?
Initial conversations are complimentary and low-pressure. I’m happy to answer questions and talk through your child’s needs.
